澳華科學(xué)技術(shù)協(xié)會（簡稱澳華科協(xié)）于1999年1月15日在澳大利亞新南威爾士州正式注冊為AUSINAN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY SOCIETY INCORPORATED (ASTS)。澳華科協(xié)是全澳性高層次人才團(tuán)體，總部設(shè)在悉尼市，其他地區(qū)設(shè)分會。澳華科協(xié)會員具有高學(xué)位，多在各大學(xué)、研究機(jī)構(gòu)或科技企業(yè)擔(dān)任高級職務(wù)，包括澳大利亞科學(xué)與工程院院士。澳華科協(xié)的宗旨是促進(jìn)科學(xué)技術(shù)的發(fā)展，推動學(xué)術(shù)教育活動，團(tuán)結(jié)科技工作者和各方面學(xué)者，增強澳大利亞和中國及其他國家和地區(qū)的科技文化交流，支持中國科教興國戰(zhàn)略。

澳華科協(xié)于1999年正式注冊成立后，立即組織全澳華裔科學(xué)家出版了論文集《邁進(jìn)科技新紀(jì)元》，慶祝澳大利亞聯(lián)邦百年華誕和中華人民共和國五十華誕，獻(xiàn)給第一位訪問澳大利亞的中國國家主席****。協(xié)會論文集由著名科學(xué)家、時任全國政協(xié)副主席錢偉長題寫書名。2002年擔(dān)任全球反獨促統(tǒng)大會組委會副主席，創(chuàng)建網(wǎng)站，出版論文集《中國和平統(tǒng)一與世界和平》，美國前總統(tǒng)克林頓為主編孫君泓親筆題詞祝賀。

澳華科協(xié)是中國多個機(jī)構(gòu)的合作組織。創(chuàng)會會長孫君泓和名譽會長竇士學(xué)是中國科學(xué)院首批聘任的海外評審專家及國務(wù)院僑辦首批聘任的海外專家咨詢委員會委員；現(xiàn)任會長童世廬教授是澳大利亞國家健康與醫(yī)學(xué)研究委員會資深研究員，是氣候變化與人群健康研究領(lǐng)域中世界知名學(xué)者；還有多位會員在中國的高校和研究機(jī)構(gòu)擔(dān)任客座教授或客座研究員、長江學(xué)者、 春暉學(xué)者、“千人計劃”學(xué)者等，承擔(dān)兩國政府間或單位間的科技合作項目�，F(xiàn)任協(xié)會領(lǐng)導(dǎo)中就有王軍、王訓(xùn)該、周曉方三位副會長入選中國國家特聘專家（中組部“千人計劃”教授），還有多位入選地方領(lǐng)軍人才。

澳華科協(xié)多次組織人員參加中國有關(guān)部門舉辦的各種科技交流活動，中國科學(xué)院白春禮院長親自視察我會在中國留學(xué)人員廣州科技交流會展區(qū)并與團(tuán)組成員親切合影。前會長金聲于2008年在第十一屆廣州留交會上獲得教育部和科技部舉辦的第三屆“春暉杯”中國留學(xué)人員創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)業(yè)大賽一等獎，澳華科協(xié)獲組織獎。僅2012年澳華科協(xié)就組織專家100多人次赴中國各地參加科技交流活動。

澳華科協(xié)也多次在澳大利亞舉辦各種高層次人才座談會、科技商貿(mào)洽談會等。2009年澳華科協(xié)在悉尼承辦歐美同學(xué)會•中國留學(xué)人員聯(lián)誼會第十一屆“21世紀(jì)中國：海外留學(xué)人員服務(wù)祖國科學(xué)發(fā)展”研討會，首次在海外大力宣傳“千人計劃”取得圓滿成功，中國人大常委會副委員長、中國科協(xié)主席、歐美同學(xué)會•中國留學(xué)人員聯(lián)誼會會長韓啟德為澳華科協(xié)題詞“全球視野，中國情懷”。2011年協(xié)助大連市政府舉辦大連海外高層次人才（悉尼）洽談會，吸引過千高層次人才參會，創(chuàng)下澳大利亞人才招聘會多項紀(jì)錄。2012年上半年澳華科協(xié)和北京中關(guān)村科技園共同承辦“全澳華人高端人才峰會”，我會會員擔(dān)任中關(guān)村駐悉尼聯(lián)絡(luò)站首任負(fù)責(zé)人。下半年協(xié)助濟(jì)南市政府舉辦高層次人才澳大利亞洽談會，我會會員擔(dān)任濟(jì)南市駐悉尼工作站主任。2013年協(xié)助中國科技部和寧波市政府主辦的創(chuàng)業(yè)計劃大賽。同年4月武漢東湖高新區(qū)海外人才工作聯(lián)絡(luò)站在我會建立。

Ausinan Science & Technology Society (ASTS) was incorporated on 15 January 1999 in the State of New South Wales, Australia. ASTS is a national talents organization with the headquarter in Sydney and branches in the states of Australia. Members of ASTS have higher degrees, holding leading or senior posts in universities,institutions, and enterprises. Among them are fellows of Australian Academy of Technological Science and engineering. The objectives of the Society are to advance science and technology, to promote scientific, artistic, professional and educational activities, to foster friendship and collaboration among Australian Chinese scientists, scholars and professionals, and with Australian and international societies for science and technology, to promote scientific, technological and cultural exchanges between Australia and China and other countries, and to support the implementation of the strategy of revitalizing China with science and education.

At the founding of ASTS, the Society's book Science and Technology - Advancing into the New Millennium was published with the collective contributions from Australian scientists of Chinese background. It significantly marks the centennial anniversary of the Federation of Australia and the 50th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. It was also be used as a memento of President Jiang Zemin's visit to Australia. The book title was inscribed by Qian Weichang, former Vice Chairman of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In 2002, ASTS established website and published Proceedings of World Congress on the Peaceful Reunification of China and World Peace which was inscribed by Bill Clinton, former President of USA.

ASTS has collaborations with a number of organizations in China. The Inaugural President Junhong Sun and Honorary President Shixue Dou are the first Overseas Assessors honored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the first Overseas Expert Consultant Committee Members honored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of P. R. China. President Shilu Tong is Leader of Ecosystem Change and Population Health Program and Senior Research Fellow of National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, also renowned in China and in the world. Vice Presidents Jun Wang, Xungai Wang and Xiaofang Zhou have been recruited in the "1000-elite Program" by the Chinese Government.

ASTS has organized numerous teams to attend the scientificexchange activities in China. Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences once inspected ASTS exhibition in the Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology and had a group photo taken with the team members.Former President Jesse Jin won the first class award in Chunhui Cup Competition sponsored by the Ministries of Education and Science. Only in 2012, over one hundred experts from ASTS were involved in exchange activities in China.

ASTS has also hosted many international conferences and exchange events in Australia.In 2009, the Eleventh "21st Century China: Overseas Scholars Serve the Scientific Development of Motherland" Symposium was successfully held in Sydney. As the Local Organizer, ASTS won the inscription by Han Qide, Vice President of National People’s Congress, President of Western Returned Scholars Association & Chinese Overseas-Educated Scholars Association, and President ofChina Association for Science and Technology. ASTS also assisted introduction and recruitment activitiesin Australia by Dalian, Beijing and other municipality governments. ASTS and its members have taken charge of the Overseas Liaison Office for several organizations.
